The Commissioner revealed that government’s support will form part of its efforts to promote inclusion, create awareness and support the persons with cerebral palsy, stressing the importance of showing empathy in supporting them and added that such support would help ease the economic burdens associated with the challenge.
Hajia Imam lauded the Founder for remembering those affected by the condition and for focusing on programmes that would improve their outcomes, urging him to sustain the efforts for societal development.
Speaking at the event, the Founder of Ifeoluwa Cerebral Palsy Initiative, Mr. Ifeoluwa Oluwaseyi Anise, disclosed that the visit was aimed at seeking collaboration with the Ministry and to extend its official invitation to the Ministry on the forthcoming Cerebral Palsy Day celebration.
Mr. Anise explained that the upcoming Cerebral Palsy Day celebration would serve as a platform to raise awareness and mobilize stakeholders for action, saying that the programme would also feature empowerment initiatives for caregivers and persons with cerebral palsy, equipping them with the skills, tools and opportunities needed to improve their quality of life and foster independence.
