The Kwara State Government, in collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force, Kwara State Command, Ilorin, has begun early consultations to ensure adequate preparations for a successful 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration.
The consultation meeting was held recently at the Nigerian Air Force Command in Ilorin when the Commissioner for Social Development, Hajia Mariam Nnafatima Imam, PhD and her entourage paid a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Kwara State Command, Air Commodore Ibrahim Barney Musa.
The Commissioner explained that the visit was part of the state government’s ongoing engagement with key stakeholders as it prepares for the annual commemoration, calling for continued collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force to make the event a success.
Responding, the Commander of the Nigerian Air Force, Kwara State Command, Air Commodore Ibrahim Barney Musa, welcomed the state government’s initiative and expressed the Command’s readiness to partner with the state in ensuring a well-organised and memorable ceremony.
He commended the proactive approach of the AbdulRazaq-led administration, noting the importance of sustained partnership in planning the state’s activities for the Remembrance Day.
